McDonald's Hurricane Disaster Relief Update

- 2 September, 2005 -

1) McDonald’s Corporation has created a $2 million matching fund to match donations raised by the following two McDonald's initiatives: For the next 30 days, donations to the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) canisters in McDonald's 13,000 U.S. restaurants will be directed to relief efforts. At least $1 million is expected to be raised through this initiative. All Donations to McDonald’s Family Charity, which raises funds within the company to help McDonald’s employees in need, will be dedicated to relief. 2) McDonald’s is also working with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Red Cross to determine the most immediate and impactful ways to deploy McDonald’s resources and distribution systems to help bring food, water and other supplies where it is needed most. Details of these actions will be made available once they are set in motion. 3) Many local McDonald's owner/operators are already helping to feed relief workers, and victims of the natural disaster.
