Little Scoops Dishes Up New Concept In Children's Party Rooms

- 18 December, 2003 -

After experiencing tremendous success scooping out fun for hundreds of children's birthday parties, Michelle Violetto and Tanya Ehrlich, the co-founders of Little Scoops Franchise Corp., announced today their plan to develop several franchise units throughout the tri-state area. Little Scoops, a children's party place designed as a retro 1950's ice cream parlor, opened in September 2002, and became an instant hit with Rockland County, New York children and their parents. The partners could tell they were on to something big when their Blauvelt, New York party space was booked solid for a month before they had even opened their doors. Violetto says, "The franchise idea became obvious when so many customers began asking if we would help them set up a Little Scoops in their area. Now we have at least five potential franchisees waiting to speak with us". Darren Yelin, CEO of Franchise Development Network, the company heading up the franchising effort said, "FDN is excited to offer this new concept. The model works and the investment range makes it available to just about everyone." Little Scoops consists of a party room where children play a variety of interactive games that are set to popular, age-appropriate music. Pizza is served and when it is time for the ice cream, the party moves to the front room, which is decorated like a retro 1950's ice cream parlor. The children get to create their own sundaes with a wide selection of colorful toppings. Ehrlich comments, "The parents love it. We take care of all the set-up and clean-up, leaving them free to sit back and enjoy the party." "As a business opportunity, there's really nothing else out there like Little Scoops," adds Ehrlich. "We put people in business for $80,000 to $100,000, while offering a truly unique and simple-to-operate concept." Little Scoops has also attracted the attention of franchise strategist Gary Occhiogrosso. The 20 year industry veteran has been responsible for the development of several franchise concepts, including the launch of the Ranch*1 franchise with it's founder's back in 1993. "Gary's been instrumental in helping us develop our franchise plan," says Ehrlich. Additionally, the Coca-Cola Company just completed negotiating its exclusive right to distribute Coca-Cola products throughout the franchise system. Violetto added, " We believe the expertise of our strategic partners along with the need for this type of business will propel us to a hundred units in the next few years". Little Scoops Franchise Corp., operates and franchises innovative children's parties places. Providing interactive games, age-appropriate dancing and delicious party fare in a unique, retro 1950's ice cream parlor setting, Little Scoops sets the new standard for children's parties.
